The Widening of Epping Road Bridge project is part of the NSW Government’s Urban Activation Precincts program to support future development in the Epping Town Centre. As a result, funding has been provided by the Department of Planning and Environment to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and support population growth in the Epping Town Centre.
The Widening of Epping Road Bridge Proposal includes the extension of the Epping Road Bridge on its southern extent to accommodate an additional westbound traffic lane and shared path. Upgrades on roads approaching the bridge, ancillary works and the relocation of an air conditioning (chiller) unit also form part of the proposed works.
Pulse Acoustics conducted an Operational Noise and Construction Noise and Vibration Assessment to form part of the project Review of Environmental Factors (REF). Project tasks included site visits, unattended noise logging, criteria derivation, operational and construction scenario composition, construction and operational noise modelling, recommended noise controls and report writing. Noise predictions were made in the 3D noise calculation software, SoundPlan.
Throughout the project, Matthew and Peter worked diligently with SNC-Lavalin and TfNSW staff. The reporting was conducted to the standards set out by TfNSW.
